THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CLARINGTON
BY-LAW 2004- 025
Being a By-law to appoint Members to the Clarington
Library Board and to repeal By-law 2001-016.
WHEREAS Section 9(1) of the Public Libraries Act, RS.O. 1990, provides that a public
library board for a municipality whose population is less than 100,000, shall be composed
of at least five (5) members appointed by the Municipal Council;
AND WHEREAS pursuant to the requirements of the Public Libraries Act, RS,O. 1990,
the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Clarington enacted By-law 2003-188,
establishing the Composition of the Clarington Public Library Board;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY
OF CLARINGTON HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT the following persons be appointed to the Clarington Public Library
Board for a term concurrent with the term of the appointing Council or until
a successor is appointed:
Brenda Carrigan
Judy Hagerman
Allan Hewitt
Dianne McKenzie
Don Peebles
Brian Purdy
Gail Rickard
Councillor Don MacArthur
Mayor John Mutton
2, THAT By-law 2001-016 is hereby repealed.
BY-LAW read a first and second time this 19th day of January 2004.
BY-LAW read a third time and finally passed this 19th day of January 2004.
