SANTA CLAUS PARADE - MINUTES OF MEETING
September 11, 2012

KATHY MCLAUGHLIN — Publicity
• Parade Permit has been sent
• Regional letter has been sent
• St. John Ambulance letter has been sent and have already received a reply back from
them and they will attend
• Central Public School has been booked and forwarded bill to Allison
• Donation letters will be mailed out by end of September
• Will contact paper to determine the cost of placing an ad in the Classified for Volunteers,
will report back at next meeting.
• Kathy will order another box of letterhead from James Publishing
TRACEY BAYLEY-BUCKLE — Make Up
• Will need to purchase make up this year
• Parade sign — Contact same company as last year. Tracy will check to see if they can
put the same Santa on signs as it is on Website
• Tracy will get the cost for these signs
JEN ASHBY— Bands
• One band booked so far: Whitby Brass Band
ROBIN LACEY— Buttons, Costumes
• Contacted the Senior Centre on Beech Street and they have 16 volunteers to sew
costumes for us. Will be sewing Elf costumes this year
• Buttons — Bowmanville High School is creating some samples for us to look at
• Website—also looking to see if there is someone from Bowmanville High School who
can work on Website
ROGER LETOOZE/BILL HEATHCOTE —Judging/Posters/Rogers Cable/Buttons and
Button boxes
• Quarry Lakes— have the use of 2 carts and 1 Gator for parade day
• Bob's Towing will be participating again
• Volunteer of the year:
Motion to nominate Terry Brown from Bob's Towing for Volunteer of the
Year

• Button Boxes—will pick up next week and deliver to Legion
• Bill Heathcote attended meeting and will be helping Roger on Parade Day
