The Corporation of the Municipality of Clarington
By-law 2023-004
Being a By-law to amend By-law 2003-188, a by-law to
establish the composition of the Clarington Public Library
Board
Whereas Council passed Resolution #GG-013-22, arising out of Report LGS-003-23, to
amend By-law 2003-188 to decrease the Council representation from two Members of
Council to one and increase citizen representation from seven to eight;
Now therefore be it enacted that By-law 2003-188 be amended as follows:
That Section 2 be deleted and replaced with the following:
That Council shall appoint one of its members to serve on the Public Library
Board.
2. That Section 3 be deleted and replaced with the following:
That the remaining eight appointments be filled by residents of the municipality
who are qualified to be appointed in accordance with Section 10 (1) of the
Public Libraries Act and who have submitted applications seeking appointment
pursuant to the publication of a public notice of vacancies on the board
published by the Municipal Clerk.
