Association, advising Paul Macklin, M.P. and Alex Shepherd, M.P. that the
Board of Directors of the Newcastle /Bond Head Ratepayers' Association
felt that the opinion of their Association should be expressed to their
elected representatives regarding the proposed federal electoral
boundaries. They strongly oppose the proposed new boundaries which
would link them with Northumberland. Clarington has no common interest
with Northumberland and, as one of the fastest growing areas in Ontario,
they feel that they have a much stronger association with the interests of
the G.T.A.

1 - 8 Rod Piukkala, Deputy Chief of Operations, Durham Regional Police
Service, advising Council that they are interested in being provided with a
copy of Enid Slack's report dealing with the provision of policing services
in the Municipality of Clarington. Mr. Piukkala believes a portion of that
report deals with the issue of deployment of resources to the patrol zones
within Clarington.

2002 -147 being a by -law to amend the procedural by -law of Council by
adopting the schedule of meetings for the term of Council and to
amend By -law 2000 -203 (approved by Council on
September 16, 2002)
2002 -148 being a by -law to establish, lay out, open and dedicate as a public
highway Parts 14 and 17 on Reference Plan 10R -3804
2002 -149 being a by -law to authorize a Letter of Agreement between the
Corporation of the Municipality of Clarington and Ontario Minister of
Transportation, to enter into an agreement regarding Ontario
Transit Renewal Program (Item #12 of Report #1)
2002 -150 being a by -law to initiate the study of a portion of the Bowmanville
urban area for its potential as a designated Heritage Conservation
District (Item #4 of Report #1)
2002 -151 being a by -law to assume certain streets within the Municipality of
