Subject: DEMOLITION OF HOUSES
61 & 63 WEST BEACH ROAD, BOWMANVILLE
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend
to Council the following:
1. THAT Report No. CS -37 -95 be received;
2. That staff be authorized to proceed with the demolition of structures located at 61 and 63 West
Beach Road, Bowmanville;
3. THAT staff be authorized to issue a purchase order in the amount of $6,300.00 to G. McQuaid
Contracting Limited who is the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and
specifications of the quotation; and
4. THAT the required funds (in the amount of $6,300.00 plus tax) be drawn from the Parkland
Cash -in -lieu Reserve Fund Account #5001- 00007 -0000.
1.0 BACKGROUND
1.1 As members of Council are aware, the Municipality has purchased additional properties at 61
and 63 West Beach Road in Bowmanville.
1.2 Through the Purchasing Department, bids were requested for the demolition of the above noted
buildings. A total of three bids were received and tabulated as follows:
G. McQuaid Contracting, Oshawa
Ackerman Excavating, Newcastle
Hardco Construction Limited, Whitby
$6,300.00
$6,451.50
$7,900.00
1.4 As there is no allocated funds for this project, it is recommended that the necessary funds be
drawn for the Parkland Cash -in -lieu Reserve Account #5001- 00007 -0000.
