HomeMy WebLinkAbout67-17THE CORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE OF NEWCASTLE BY —LAW NO. 6,7— i�l A By—law respecting the adoption of Biennial Elections in the VILLAGE OF NEWCASTLE WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to change the present system of electing Members of Council and Local Boards in each year so that all Members of the Council and Local Boards will be elected for two (2) year terms at an election to be held every second year; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Village of Newcastle ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the present system of yearly elections be changed and that henceforth all the Members of Council shall hold office for term of two (2) years at an election to be held every second year commencing with the annual elections in December 19.. and every elected Member of any Local Board as defined under The Department of Municipal Affairs Act shall be elected at the same time and hold office for the same term as the Members of Council.
