A by-law to authorize a levy on the whole
of the assessment fox real property and
business prior to adoption of the annual
estimates.
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of low-
manvills deems it a convenience to the taxpayer and economical to
adopt a system of interim tax billing,
NOT THEREFORE the Council Of the Corporation of the To-,,T,- of
BOwmanville Pursuant to the provisions of Section 294aof The Municipal
Act R.S.C. 1960 Chapter 249, hereby _iS FULOTTS:
1. There shall he levied on the whole of the assessment for real
Property Inc? business accOreing to tie last revise! assessment roll
and before tie Noption of the estimates for tie year, a sum not
exceeding 50 Per cent of that which wOule be Produced by applying to
such assessment the total rate for all purposes levied in the precee&in',^
year on residential real property of public school supporters.
12. The taxes so levied shall be 6esmsi to have been imposed and
become due and payable On the lst day of January in each year, but may
be Paid in throe instalments, t4e first instalment being due on or
about the 155 i day of FQrsary, the second instalment due on or about
the ist 6ay of April an& tic third instalment due on or about the 1501
day of Hay.
S. There shall be imposed a penalty for non-payment of any tares
on the due date of any instalment thereof, the amount of one-half of
1 per cent of the amount due and unpaid on the first day of default
and an additional one-half of I per cent shall be added on the first
day of each calendar month thereafter in which default continues, but
not after the end of the year in which the taxes are levied.
4. The Collector is hereby authorizej to mail or cause to be
mai lei the notice of taxes due to the aKress of the residence or place
O' business of the person to whom notice is required to be given.
5® This by-law shall come into force and effect upon the date
of tie final re&inz thereof.
