HomeMy WebLinkAbout1871THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF BOWMANVILLE BY -LAW NO. / BEING A BY -LAW TO AUTHORIZE A CONVEYANCE OF THE CLOSED PART OF MELVILLE STREET TO KARL WAVERSVELD. WHEREAS by Order of His Honour M.A. Miller, Judge of the County Court of the United Counties of Northumberland and Durham, dated the 20th day of June, 1962, and registered in the Registry Office for the Registry Division of the West Riding of the County of Durham on the 29th day of June, 1962, as No. N 16956, it was ordered that all that part of Melville Street lying between Ontario Street and Liberty Street according to a plan of the Village of Bowmanville made by John Grant, P.L.S., be permanently closed. AND WHEREAS Section 56 (2) and (8) the closed part of a street is to be conveyed by a municipality to the owners of land abutting thereon. AND WHEREAS Karl Waversveld is the owner of the lands abutting on both sides of that part of Melville Street which was closed and has in fact for some time possessed that part of Melville Street. NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bowmanville pursuant to the Surveys Act R.S.O. 1960, Chapter 390, Section 56 (2) and (8) hereby ENACTS as follows: 1. That the Town of Bowmanville convey to Karl Waversveld all that closed part of Melville Street lying between Ontario Street and Liberty Street according to the Plan of the Village of Bowmanville made by John Grant, P.L.S. and registered on the 20th day of April, 1852. 2. That the Mayor and Clerk be and are hereby authorized to sign and affix the Corporate seal of the Town to the said conveyance. READ a first and second time this If -/"/t day of 1963. I hereby certify that attached hereto is a true copy of by -law 1871, being a by -law of the Corporation of the Town of Bowmanville to authorize a conveyance of the closed part of Melville Street to Karl Waversveld, which by -law was duly passed on the 18th day of March, 1963.
