B9-law Designating Through Highways
By-law So. II90
WHEREAS subsection 3 of the section 39 of The Highway Traffic gat
(R.S~Q• I937, Chap. 288) provides that:-
. The operator or driver of every vehicle or car of an
electric railway shall before entering or crossing a through
highway bring the vehicle or car to a full stop immediately
before entering the nearest crosswalk; and
"Through Highway" shall mean any highway or part of highway
designated as such by the Minister or by by-law of a Municipality
approved by the Department, and every such highway shall be marked
to comply with the regulations of the Department;
BOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of
Clarke enacts as follows:-
The following highways and parts of highways in the Township of
Clarke are designated as "through highways";-
Centre Street in the Police Village of Orono
Park Street in the Police Village of Orono
All or any previous by-laws relating to through streets
of the Township of Clarl~e are hereby repealed.
This by-law shall not become effective until approved by the
Department of Highways and until signs have been erected and are
on display in eomplianae with the regulations of the Department.
Enacted and passed this I day of August I950.
