BY-LAW NO. 2008 - 214
Being a by-law to repeal By-law 92-81, a by-law to
designate the property known for municipal purposes
as 27 King Street West, Bowmanville, as a property
of historic or architectural value or interest under the
Ontario Heritage Act.
WHEREAS with the passage of By-law 92-81, the property located at 27 King
Street West was designated as a property of historic or architectural value or
interest under the Ontario Heritage Act;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Municipality of Clarington adopted the
recommendations contained in Report PSD-103-08 recommending the repeal of
By-law 92-81;
AND WHEREAS the requirements of the Ontario Heritage Act have been met
and no objection to the repeal of the by-law has been received;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
MUNICIPALITY OF CLARINGTON:
1. THAT By-law 98-81 is hereby repealed.
By-law read a first, second, third time and finally passed this 8th day of
December, 2008.

In an attempt to be super efficient, we have been linking the by-laws for heritage designation to the LDO (property fabric)
so that questions can be readily answered.
What we have discovered is that when By-law 92-81 was repealed, the by-law has an error in it.
By-law 92-81 is the designation of 27 King Street West(formerly Rickaby's now Second Chance). We repealed 92-81 by
by-law 2008-214 as the building had burned and been demolished. The report listed in By-law 2008-214 is PSD-102-08
but should have been PSD-103-08.
