BY-LAW No. 78-97
A BY-LAW 'IO CDNFIRM THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COUNCIL
OF THE 'IO\lN OF NEWCASTLE AT nus MEETING HELD ON THE
10th DAY OF
October
19 78
WHEREAS by Section 9 of the Municipal Act, being Chapter 284
of the Revised Statues of Ontario, 1970, the powers of a nnmicipal
corporation are to be exercised by its Council;
AND WHEREAS by Subsection 1 of Section 241 of The Municipal Act,
being Chapter 284 of the Revised Statues of Ontario, 1970, the powe~s
of every Council are to be exercised by by-law;
J:UvV 'IBEREFORE THE CDUNCIL OF THE '!OWN OF NEWCASTLE ENACTS AS IDLlOWS:
1.
The actions of the Council of the 'Ibwn of Newcastle at this
meeting held on the 10th day of October 1978 in respect of each
reccmnendation contained in the reports of the O:mnittees and
each rotion and resolution passed and other action taken by the
Council of the Town of Newcastle at this meeting is hereby
adopted and confinnedas if all such proceedingS were 'expressly
anbodied in this by-law. '
2. The Mayor and proper officials of the Town of Newcastle are
hereby authorized and directed to do all things necessary to
give effect to the actions of the Council of the Town of Newcastle
referred to in the preceeding section hereof.
3. The Mayor and Clerk are authorized and directed to execute all
documents necessary in that behalf and to affix thereto the Seal
of the 'Ibwn of Newcastle.
