By-Law No. 79-88
A BY -LAW TO cx)NFIRM 'IRE PIlXEIDINrn OF 'IRE CX)UNCIL
OF TIlE 'TOWN OF NEWCASTLE AT '!HE MEETINrn HELD ON '!HE THIRTIE'lH
DAY OF AUGUST 1979 AND '!HE FOURIH DAY OF SEI!l'.EMBER 1979.

WHEREAS by Section 9 of the Municipal Act, being Chapter 284 of
the Revised Statues of Ontario, 1970, the powers of a nnmicipal
corporation are to be exercised by its COWlcil;
AND WHEREAS by Subsection 1 of Section 241 of The Municipal Act,
being Chapter 284 of the Revised Statues of Ontario, 1970, the powers
of every Co1lllcil are to be exercised by by-law;
-roW 'IHEREFORE 'IRE CX)UNCIL OF 'IRE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE ENACTS AS FOLlDWS:
1. The actions of the Council of the Town of Newcastle at the meeting held
on the 30th day of August 1979 and at the meeting held on the 4th day
of September 1979 in respect of each recarmendation contained in the
reports of the Conmi ttees and each lIDtion and resolution passed and
other action taken by the Council of the Town of Newcastle at these
meetings are hereby adopted and confinned as if all such proceedings
were expressly anbodied in this by-law.
2. The Mayor and proper officials of the Town of Newcastle are hereby
authorized and directed to do all things necessary to give effect
to the action of the Co1lllcil of the Town of Newcastle referred to
in the preceeding action hereof.
3. The Mayor and Clerk are authorized and directed to execute all
documents necessary in that behalf and to affix thereto the Seal
of the Town of Newcastle
PASSED IN OPEN CX)UNCIL this 4th day of September 1979.
