THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CLARINGTON
BY-LAW 93-208
Being a by-law to establish a Reserve for
Firefighters Co-training - Ontario Hydro
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of
Clarington considers it desirable to establish a Reserve for
Firefighters Co-training - Ontario Hydro.
AND WHEREAS the Municipality of Clarington will receive an amount
of $44,000 through the Ontario Hydro - Municipal agreement of 1993
for the purpose of training Municipal firefighters to deal with
fires at the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station.
AND WHEREAS Chapter M.45, Section 162(2) of the Municipal Act
R.S.O. 1990, -provides that, "In preparing the estimates the Council
shall make due allowance for a surplus of any previous year that
will be available during the current year and shall provide for any
operating deficit of any previous year, and for the cost of
collection, abatement of and discount on taxes and for
uncollectible taxes and may provide for taxes that it is estimated
will not be collected during the year and for such reserves as the
Council considers necessary. "
NOW THEREFORE, Be It enacted and it is enacted as a By-law of the
Corporation of the Municipality of Clarington as follows:
1. That the Treasurer be authorized to establish a
reserve entitled Reserve for Firefighters
Co-training - Ontario Hydro;
2. That the funds received from Ontario Hydro in
the amount of $44,000 be used for the payment
of expenses related to training Municipal
firefighters to deal with fires at the
Darlington Nuclear Generating Station.
By-Law read a first time this 13th day of December1993.
By-Law read a second time this 13th day of December 1993.
By-Law read a third time and finally passed this 13th day of
December 1993.
