THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW NO. 92-116
being a by-law to amend By-law 84-20 providing
for the levying of taxes for street lighting
services within The Corporation of The Town of
Newcastle .
WHEREAS the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
considers it to be expedient to amend By-law 84-20.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of The Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle enacts as follows:
1. By-law 84-20, as amended, is hereby amended by:
(a) deleting the first four lines of section 1 of the
aforesaid By-law 84-20 and replacing them with the
following:
That all properties shown on the last revised
assessment roll of The Corporation of The Town of
Newcastle on the date in each year on which a by-
law is passed to impose a special tax for street
lighting which is located within a street lighting
area shown on a map contained in either Schedule "A"
or Schedule "B" attached to and forming part of this
By-law and all properties which are not shown on
such a map but any portion of which, in fact, is
located within thirty meters from a street light
within any such street lighting area shall
so that section 1 as amended will read:
That all properties shown on the last revised
assessment roll of the Town of Newcastle on the date
in each year on which a by-law is passed to impose
a special tax for street lighting which is located
within a street lighting area shown on a map
contained in either Schedule "A" or Schedule "B;
attached to and forming part of this By-law and all
properties which are not shown on such a map but any
portion of which in fact is located within thirty
meters from a street light within any such street
lighting area shall be taxed for 100% for the
capital and annual operating costs of the Town of
the street lighting services provided within a
street lighting area.
(b) repealing sections 2 and 3 of the foresaid By-law 84-
20; and

repealing Schedule "A" to "P" attached to the aforesaid
By-law 84-20 and replacing them with new Schedules "A"
and "B" in the form and with the content of Schedules "A"
and "B" attached to and forming part of this By-law.
BY-LAW read a first and second time this 13th day of April, 1992.
