HomeMy WebLinkAbout82-15 THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE BY-LAW 82-15 REPEALED DY 'a' ;;L - 0'50 BY-LAW #.,..g....,...., . being a by-law to Designate Pedestrian Crossovers WHEREAS Section 1, Subsection 27 of The Highway TRaffic Act R.S.O. 1980, Chapter 198, provides that: "Pedestrian Crossover" means any portion of a roadway designated by by-law of a municipality, at an intersection or elsewhere, distinctly indicated for pedestrian crossing by signs on the highway and lines or other markings on the surface of the roadway as prescribed by the regulations:" AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle has deemed it expedient to designate certain portions of roadways as Pedestrian Crossovers; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle hereby enacts as follows: 1. The portions of roadways set out in Column 1 hereunder at the locations named in column 2 are designated as Pedestrian Crossovers. . Column 2 at Frank Street (former Town of Bowmanville) East side of Division Street (former Town of Bowmanville) Between Victoria Street and Albert Street (former Town of Bowmanville) 2~ The penalties provided in Section 188 of The Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1980, Chapter 198 shall apply to offences against this By-law. Column 1 (a) King Street East (b) King Street East (c) Ontario Street 3. By-law No. 74-55 as amended, of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle is repealed, and any By-law of the former Town of Bowmanville, Township of Clarke, or Darlington, or the Village of Newcastle, not consistant with this By-law, are hereby repealed. 4. This By-law shall not become effective until approved by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, pursuant to Section 169 of The Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O., 1980, Chapter 198. By-law read a first and second time this 15th day of March 1982 .
