THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 82-13
being a by-law to appoint a Deputy Fire Chief
The Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
hereby ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That James A. Aldridge is hereby appointed Deputy Fire
Chief during the pleasure of Council.
2. That James A.Aldridge should be paid for his services such
sum annually, in accordance with the terms and conditions
as set out in Schedule IIAII attached hereto.

3. That the appointment of James Aldridge as Deputy Fire Chief
be subject to his meeting the conditions of employment detailed
in Schedule liB" attached hereto:

By-Law read a second time this 1st day of February 1982
By-Law read a third time and finally passed this 1st day of February 1982

SCHEDULE "A" TO BY-LAW 82-13
Terms and Conditions of Appointment of J. A. Aldridge
.
The following shall be the terms and conditions of the employment of
J. A. Aldridge as "Deputy Fire Chief" of the Town of Newcastle, namely:
1. Effective March 1 1982, Mr. J. A. Aldridge should commence his duties
with the Town of Newcastle as "Deputy Fire Chief".
2. The duties and responsibilities of the Deputy Fire Chief are those
established by By-Law 82-13, as may be amended from time to time.
3. Mr. J. A. Aldridge shall be renumerated in accordance with the Town's
policy in respect of the compensation for non-affiliated staff and
more specifically, shall be paid a salary Grade (13), Step 4.
4. Mr. J. A. Aldridge shall be entitled to all other employee benefits
emjoyed by all other non-affiliated staff as may be determined from
time to time.

. SCHEDULE "B" TO BY-LAW 82-13
Condition of Employment
1. That the position is subject to a sixty day probationary period.
2. That Mr. James Aldridge relocate to the Bowmanville Area i.e. within
the vicinity of Fire Department Headquarters, within the first year of
his employment, or as may be otherwise agreed to.
3. That Mr. James Aldridge satisfactorily complete the basic and
advanced fire department management courses offered through the
Ontario Fire College within the first year of employment, or as
otherwise agreed to.
4. That Mr. James Aldridge provide the Corporation with a medical
certificate attesting to his physical condition and his ability to
assume the position of Deputy Fire Chief.
