HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/04/1968 HAMPTON, JULY ~, 1968. 68-7-1 Darlington Township Council met in the Municipal Building on this date, all Members present except Councillor Brown, Reeve Muir presiding. Moved by Councillor Gibbs and Deputy Reeve Down that the minutes of the meeting held June 20th,1968, be adopted as read. Moved by Councillor Gibbs and Deputy Reeve Down that Road Accounts for the month of June, 1968, in the amount of $ 50673.93, as approved by the Roads Committee, be paid. Moved by Councillor Dow and Deputy Reeve Down that, in view of the coming re~organization of School Boards in 1969, this Council is of the opinion that proposals for new school building should await the establishing of policy by the new County J~ard, therefore the proposal for new High School Building at Port Hope as presented to this meeting is not approved. Moved by Councillors Gibts and Dow that, during the months of July, August and September 1968, the second monthly meeting of Council shall be held on July 17th, Aug. 15th, and Sept. 18th. at 7.30 P.N. 68-7-2 68-7-3 68-7-~ 68-7-5 Moved by Councillors Dow and Gibbs that grants to Orono Fair, Blackstock Fair, and Oshawa Fair, be paid when requested. Moved by CouncillorDow and Deputy Reeve Down that the sum of $60.00 be paid to the Township Treasurer, Lloyd Peterson, being 50% of the costs of his third year fee in the Municipal Clerks and Treasurers Course. Noved by Councillors Gibbs and Dow that a letter be sent to Mr. McKenzie, St. Mary's Cement Co., expressing Council's appreciation of his courtesy in conducting a tour of the Company's property.
