A special meeting of the BOvITnanvillo Town Council was held on
August 18th, &t 8:00p.m. in the Town Hall.
Councillors K. Lathangue and L. Preston absent.
All others present.
Mayor W.D.Carruthers in the 'ha~r.
By-law!:: "":. First and Second [leading.
Moved by ~eputy-Reeve Brough,
Seconded by Councillor Hobbs,
And resolved that the mover be granted leave to introduce a
by-law to authorize the borrowing of $130,079.00 upon debent-
ures to pay for the addition to the Bowmanville Memorial Hos-
pital.
Said by-law to bel rep.d a first and second time.
Carried.

Dog Control Officer.
Hoved by Deputy-Reeve Brough,
Seconded by Reeve Higgon,
And resolved that Dr. ~. Wheatley be appointed as dog control
officer for the Town of Bowmanville, at a salary of $3,000.00
per year.. Duties to commence AUGUst 24th.
Carried.
Moved by Deputy-Reeve Brough,
Seconded by Reeve Higgon,

And resolved that an assistant dog control officer be appoint-
ed at a salary of not nore than ~2,800.00 per y~ar. DutieS to
